CALL FOR WORK IN PROGRESS REPORTS

7th IEEE International Conference on
Pervasive Computing and Communications
PerCom 2009
Dallas, March 16-20, 2009

**** WiP Reports Deadline - November 02, 2008 (any timezone) ****

Sponsored by IEEE Computer Society, The University of Texas at Arlington, IBM Research Co-Sponsored by the IEEE TCCC, and the IEEE TCPP, 2009 will be the seventh year of the IEEE PerCom conference on the emerging area of pervasive computing and communications aimed at providing an exciting platform and paradigm for anytime, anywhere services.

This is the fourth year PerCom will feature a work-in-progress (WiP) session in order to present and discuss emerging results, and novel research questions, approaches, and directions. In the past, demos and workshops complemented the main conference program, but there was no real opportunity to discuss early work in the context of PerCom. Therefore, the specific aim of the WiP session is to provide a forum for early feedback on ongoing research and for discussion of novel, controversial, and thought provoking ideas. Selected papers will be presented as posters in a special WiP Session during the main conference and published in the conference proceedings. Contributions are solicited in all areas of pervasive computing research and applications. Topics include, but are not limited to:

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Pervasive Computing and communication architectures
  • Intelligent environments
  • Service composition and application adaptation
  • Smart devices and smart spaces
  • Middleware services
  • Mobile/Wireless computing systems and services
  • Context aware computing
  • Autonomic computing and communications
  • Programming paradigms for pervasive systems
  • User interfaces and interaction models
  • End user programming and end user tools
  • Mobile/Wireless service management and delivery
  • Resource management in pervasive computing
  • Trust, security and privacy issues
  • Sensor networks and applications
  • Pervasive service oriented architectures

Submission Instructions:

Authors are requested to submit original, unpublished manuscripts in standard IEEE proceedings format (two-column format with a 4-page limit including figures, tables, and references) in PDF format that include contact information of all the authors to the submission site http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=percom09wip

If you have any questions regarding the submission process, please send email to percom09-wip@easychair.org.

The submitted manuscripts will undergo a review process by the WiP Program Committee. The authors of accepted papers will present their work during the main conference in a special WiP poster session and must register for the conference. The papers from the WiP session will be published in the proceedings of the Seventh Annual IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications by IEEE Press.
