Conference Scope

Pervasive computing and communications is emerging as an exciting new paradigm with a goal to provide computing and communication services all the time, everywhere. This emergence is a natural outcome of research and technological advances in wireless networks, mobile computing, distributed computing and agent technologies. PerCom is the annual IEEE conference on pervasive computing and communications and as such it will provide a high profile, leading edge forum for researchers and engineers alike to present their latest advances in the field of pervasive computing and communications.

Paper Presentations: Instructions to Authors


Please note the following details:

(1) Conference will provide laptops for your presentation during the conference sessions.

(2) Please upload your presentation file (PowerPoint or PDF) by MARCH 10 (for the Upload Instructions please refer to the bottom)

. The organizers would load the presentations on the laptops to be used during the sessions. You can find the session number for your paper at the PerCom website, in the the final technical program, at: http://www.percom.org

(3) Each regular papers would get 25 minutes for presentation followed by 5 minutes of QAs. Concise contributions will get 12 minutes of presentation time followed by 3 minutes of QAs. As an extra reliability measure, please bring your presentation on a CD or diskette. You may also wish to keep your presentation available through the web as well.

*You can certainly update your presentation file when you arrive at the conference. Just bring it on a diskette and contact me.

UPLOAD INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRESENTATION FILES

The instructions of the file uploading are as follows:

Step 1: please name your presentation and bio files according to following rules:

Presentation file Name: "SessionNumber" + "first author's lastName"+".ppt" or ".pdf"
Bio text file Name: "SessionNumber" + "first author's lastName"+".txt"

For example, given this paper in Sesstio PC-6:
"Location-based E-campus Web Services: From Design to Deployment", S. Koo, C. Rosenberg, H. H. Chan, and Y. C. Lee.
Presentation file name: PC6Koo.ppt
Bio file name: PC6Koo.txt

Step 2: Use a ftp client to connect the following server Address of Ftp site: pcftp.uta.edu
username: presentation
passwd:
percom2004

Step 3: Upload your presentation and bio files.

Notice: The files in the server will not listed after your uploading.
