Scope: The aim of this workshop is to discuss fundamental issues in context 
management and to identify widely applicable concepts, theories and methods. 
This includes theoretical and practical issues related to modeling and reasoning 
about context as well as system-oriented issues related to the design and 
implementation of context-aware systems.

Scope:MP2P'05 is intended to serve as a forum for scientists and engineers in 
academia and industry to exchange and discuss their experiences, new ideas, 
and research results about all aspects of mobile P2P computing. It will address 
the challenges, technologies, and architectures leading to real-world solutions 
that provide users with direct access and control of their critical peer-based

information and services, regardless of location or device. The principal theme 
of MP2P’05 is the development of protocols, systems and applications for mobile

P2P computing.

Pervasive Computing (PerWare'05)

Scope:Context-awareness, dynamism, and heterogeneity are some of the properties
that differentiate pervasive computing from traditional distributed systems. Most traditional distributed systems are unaware of context, are static, and are composed of homogeneous devices. As a result, the assumptions underlying traditional middleware infrastructures differ from the ones for pervasive computing. In a pervasive computing environment, issues such as mobility, disconnection, and dynamic introduction and removal of devices, and merging of the physical environment with the computational infrastructure are common and affect the underlying middleware infrastructure. Furthermore, different devices might be connected to different networks, with different latency and bandwidth. As a result, the middleware must provide mechanisms for handling disconnection, addressing fault tolerance, and adapting to a number of issues related to diversity including heterogeneous device resources. The scale of pervasive computing in terms of the number of devices and services, combined with the lack of a single system administrator, the associated dynamism, and frequent failures require middleware services capable of evolving and re-organizing themselves.

This workshop addresses the issues related to the design and implementation of middleware services for pervasive computing. The workshop focuses on the challenges associated with pervasive computing and identifies common paradigms and design decisions that affect most middleware designers.

Scope: As pervasive computing and related fields mature, there is a growing need to

better prepare students for graduate research and positions in industry and government.  
The Workshop on Pervasive Computing Education will provide a forum to discuss 
requirements, barriers, and approaches to pervasive computing education and to 
present innovative courses and design projects in pervasive computing and 
communications, mobile computing and communications, wearable computing, ad hoc 
networking, and related topics.  The workshop will include panel discussions, 
peer-reviewed papers, and work-in-progress presentations.
